An elegant Christmas sale in Rome

One of the most requested thing is a shopping experience with new upcoming designers and artisans. A good opportunity can be The Christmas weekend alla Torre in Rome. Located in a property on via Appia Antica 41, it will be possible to get fresh ideas for gifts. Try clothes that you can not find everywhere, buy bijoux, frames and bags . The sale is from 10.30am to 8.30 pm up to Sunday December 15th.

We have to say that designers and artisans were not very lucky on the first day. The weather in Rome today is awful. The mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, shut down the schools. In fact the storm was quite short in the middle of the afternoon and we hope that people will go to the sales right now. Tomorrow afternoon in Piazza San Giovanni the Sardine meeting can gathered around one hundred thousands people but who knows. I think the best day for this gorgeous sale will be on Sunday.

Why should you go to Torre di Geta ? Because the idea is to get a new glampse on italian creativity. Personally we loved the pants of C’est la V. They are made with gorgeous fabrics, some even are vintage from Yves Saint Laurent in the 70’s. We support also the work of Gaia Viero with her yoga line called 3rd eye and are also extremely sensitive about a bunch of new things. The work of Per non Dormire with elegant solutions for the evening such as a white and black jumpsuit, the pullover of Marzia Genesi, the rings of Chiara BCN.

We spent in La Torre a couple of hours and we are ready to come back again for a christmas shopping experience in Rome.

Shopping for a good cause: Bottega Veneta for Venice

Bottega Veneta announces its support in the conservation of the Basilica di San Marco in Venice, an icon of artistic heritage damaged by the recent floods. This is a clear example of fashion supporting art and monuments. Shopping for a good cause is always a good thing despite recent criticisms.

In collaboration with international non-profit organisation, Venetian Heritage, 30% of sales from selected Bottega Veneta handbags will be donated towards the recovery of the mosaic floors and marble walls that were severely damaged. The problem is that the water was salty which is one of the reasons of the disaster. The initiative will include all models of BV Classic, Marie, BV Angle and Arco sold in Bottega Veneta stores across Italy and on the official Italian e-commerce website, starting from November 29th to December 29th.

“Bottega Veneta’s identity is rooted within the rich history of the Veneto region. Venice is a world apart, the quintessence of the region’s heritage and we are committed to the future and protection of its iconic symbols,” Leo Rongone, Chief Executive Officer, Bottega Veneta. “I am proud we are able to contribute to the restoration of the church, one of the most inspiring monuments in Venice. At Bottega Veneta, we are dedicated to our cultural heritage and preservation of the Veneto region,” Daniel Lee, Creative Director, Bottega Veneta.
