SHOPPING IN EMILIO PUCCI AN EXCLUSIVE EXPERIENCE SOON IN ROME

Emilio Pucci is linked to the brand’s sport heritage. In Rome the boutique is in piazza di Spagna. Last week I went to the presentation in Milano of the new fall winter collection 2019-20. It was like a tableau vivant and I am looking forward to see it in Rome next season. They were a lot of bomber jackets and track pants. It reminds me of the swinging London of the Sixties with Lurex chiffon tops, caftans and sequin embroidered. We also love the patterned pleated skirts.

Emilio Pucci is in the middle of a process. In the last twenty years they hired a bunch of famous designers such as Christian Lacroix, Matthew Williamson, Peter Dundas and Massimo Giorgetti who left in 2017. This time there was a team work. Laudomia Pucci, the daughter of Emilio, seemed quite happy about it. She declared: “It’s a great moment of change, the collection is more feminine and elegant “. She is the image director and member of the board even though the brand is owned by LVMH Fashion group.

At the reception in the gorgeous Pucci showroom in via Amedei where the presentation took place I saw Sidney Toledano, chairman and CEO of Pucci. Here what he declares to the WWD “ This is a studio work, they did a good job with new materials, using graphics and subtle colors. We are a work in progress. This is a transition not a destination” The presentation in Milano was extremely crowded with a lot of buyers and journalists from all over the world. It is a good sign and we will soon see if the market likes this new collection and what I will be chosen in Rome next season. Keep in touch.

In Rome Happy Valentine in Campo de' Fiori

One of the best things of the market of Campo de’Fiori is the flowers stands. There are two of them that I particularly like. One is owned by Stefano, a blond handsome guy, and one by Pippo who has a nice little dog. I interviewed Pippo (his real name is Giuseppe Nicosia) for a special mapping I am writing for a client with her beloved spots. I am very proud about the picture I made.

Giusepppe Nicosia is on Campo de’ Fiori since 1988 and has all kind of flowers, depending on the season. In few days, for example, he will have thousands of mimosa for the woman’s day, the 8th of March. He is also extremely talented in making compositions and bouquets even though, he told me, that making flowers for wedding bores him a lot. He works, by the way for important clients in the neighborhood, such as the French Embassy .

I must admit that the market of Campo de’ Fiori is not as nice as it used to be. Now there are a lot of stands full of coloured pasta that italian never buy, limoncello especially made as tourist traps and so on. There are a still a couple of good stands of fruits and vegetables but the prices are way too expensive. In front of the market I love the Forno with a great white pizza, a creamery and a butcher on the corner.

Happy Valentine in Fendi with romantic ideas

FENDI’s Fashion Jewelry blossoms on St. Valentine’s day, giving life to a new feminine and cutting-edge collection of accessories for lovers all over the world. A new fashion jewelry line for next Spring Summer. In Rome, for example, the flagship store is in Largo Goldoni

A retro jewelry feeling pervades the Collection shown on the Women’s Spring/Summer 2019 catwalk, featuring a wide range of handcrafted chockers, ear-cuffs and rings that showcase the Maison’s exclusive craftsmanship and meticulous attention for details.

A feminine flower décor, created through a special vitreous enameling technique, appears in orange, fuchsia, water green and royal blue and adds a romantic twist to the collection. The enamel is applied through several layers into metal cells; in this way, light can shine and colours result transparent and translucent, almost recalling the stained-glass of ancient cathedrals.
Expressing FENDI’s dualism, all the Collection combines pop colours with an antique-gold finish that infuses the collection with a vintage feeling.

Must have accessory of the season, the ear-cuff is presented also in a sparkling version in brass metal embellished by micro-paved zircons, merging femininity with a cool attitude. Available in various shades – from emerald green and light blue with gold to orange and fuchsia with palladium – and sizes – small, medium and large –, the crystal ear-cuffs are perfect to be mix and matched or worn all together for a real fashion statement.

With their romantic yet edgy allure, every piece of the Spring/Summer 2019 Fashion Jewelry Collection is a real declaration of love.

Discover and fall in love with the new Fashion Jewelry Collection, available in FENDI boutiques worldwide and on fendi.com starting from February 2019.
